Obviously, WTO and some other trade agreements, i.e., AFTA, CPTPP, EVFTA, etc. have brought every country, especially the developing ones, challenges and opportunities intertwined to face and take advantage of at the same time, in addition, climate change-related issues have also been forcing people to gather and reach a consensus or a compromise solution for the best to come. So, students of all ages and levels need to find a suitable way to learn and brush up on their English before moving up to a higher stage in their careers. Being a university graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics engineering and a number of years of working in IT software development along with a few recent years spent teaching English online and offline to Vietnamese kids and adults, I believe my educational background, qualifications, and teaching methodologies would make me a practically qualified teacher who can help students engage in learning and make ground day by day. First, the academic years at the university campus made me understand how important English is for people pursuing higher education and how we can improve English reading comprehension as quickly as possible better absorbing new knowledge provided throughout the courses. During that period, like any other student, I used to register and complete a list of subjects each semester, with many coursebooks and research documents written in English, not our mother tongue. Second, my higher education journey plus valuable work experience in English-speaking environments have become a great asset in building a flexible teaching methodology for many specific groups of ESL learners from children to teenagers to adults. The convincing evidence of this aspect is that I have successfully established a close connection between students and foreign teachers while working as a teaching assistant or a main teacher at some educational organizations, i.e., VAS, reducing the gaps and encouraging students to speak more actively. Unsurprisingly, global integration has been affecting the way we think of learning English -- we do not learn a new language - English only to read study materials, and technical documents and speak with our teachers, classmates, or some people speaking the same English as ours, but also to communicate with native speakers and other foreigners from any corner of the globe. Therefore, the top priority in my teaching methods is helping beginners build the habit of pronouncing new words correctly and supporting teenagers and adults in improving their speaking skills with correct pronunciation and well-structured sentences. Third, choosing the right course with the appropriate curriculum, for example, Family and Friends, Solutions, Interchange, etc. for every student according to their current level is the most important step in leading them to complete their study programs and be more confident of mastering English even within short terms or in the long run. Born and raised in sunny South Africa, I spent my years being educated in the public school system, after finishing my degree I set off for foreign lands and adventures, where did I go? To China!
