I am a Chinese living in Hong Kong and have been a Chinese language teacher in a Secondary school for forty years. In learning Cantonese, students also wish to understand more about local Culture, which is useful for them to work and live in Hong Kong or nearby China. I admit that learning Cantonese is not easy, but the effectiveness of learning is two-way; a good teacher can make the learning process enjoyable and fruitful for both parties. In the learning process of reading, writing, listening, and speaking, talented students also need guidance from mentors. Everyone has their own unique learning ability because of their mother's culture and educational background. Therefore, the process of learning languages is at the same time the process of discovering yourself and giving full exercise to your strengths. Both teachers and students can experience new experiences of learning and teaching. I am happy to teach and listen. I am willing to pay more patience and attention to the needs of students.
