Hi, my name is Winnie. I have been teaching foreigners all over the world Cantonese since 2014. I have accumulated over 6000 hours of teaching experience and I have made over 600 videos to teach foreigners Cantonese. I have taught students from elementary kids to mature adults of different levels. As for my educational and teaching background, I graduated from the University of Hong Kong (double majors in English Linguistics and Japanese Studies) and I also have a Master's degree from the Faculty of Education at the University of Monash. I am now also a teacher in an elementary school, teaching kids from the ages 6 to 12.

Is it difficult to learn Cantonese in Hong Kong?
It can be difficult as many Hongkongers can speak English to the foreigners so foreigners may hard to really practice Cantonese with people in HK. So having a good private tutor is an effective way to learn and practice Cantonese for foreigners living in HK.
How much time does it take to learn Cantonese in Hong Kong?
Of course there is no standard answer. But if one diligently takes lesson weekly, 6 months to 1 year can make an absolute beginner becomes a person who can manage basic daily conversations quite well already
