Hello! My name is Rick. I’m a native English speaker based in Ottawa with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Carleton University. I bring over 35 years of experience as a tennis coach, where I’ve worked with people of all ages and skill levels — from beginners to national competitors. Through coaching, I’ve developed strong communication skills, a great deal of patience, and a talent for breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps.
I have a genuine passion for language learning and love connecting with people from different backgrounds. I especially enjoy working with adult learners, helping them build confidence in their English skills for work, daily life, or personal growth. I’m a good listener, and I always tailor my approach to make sure each student understands the lesson and feels supported every step of the way.
Whether you’re just getting started or looking to polish your English, I’d be happy to help you reach your goals!

Is English easy to learn?
Absolutely! How fast you learn will depend a bit on what your native language is and writing English can get a little tricky when it comes to spelling some words but overall I am confident you can do it!
