I am a Dutch teacher for ex-pats, with over ten years of teaching experience. I have taught English as a second language for over ten years and have been teaching Dutch to ex-pats since 2017. I thoroughly enjoy connecting to and working with my students and making having fun and feeling relaxed the most important part of the lesson, that way, learning happens easily. I like to make my students feel at ease so that they can work on their confidence, which I feel is key when learning anything new. Come and learn Dutch with me and I will have you talking in no time :)

My name is Mieke van Eijndhoven. After a study of social science at the University of Amsterdam I studied English. I did some translation work and teached young adults in school.. My whish for teaching is to help keeping my language alive. Another reason is the many holidays in Turkey I had for over a period of ten years. I didn’t speak any Turkish and nobody spoke English. So I started a Turkish course. After two years I had a solid base to enjoy the country much more. My method will be partly grammar and a bit reading and for another part communication by talking. If you want to reach stability in Dutch language I can help. We read, listen and talk you through my native language. In general you can reach a good level after one year. I still learn about my own language by teaching it, which is very nice. Let me know your wishes about days and hours and I will tell you mine.

Hi! My name is Lasca ten Kate. I was born, raised and am still living in the heart of Amsterdam. In 2020 I started teaching Dutch as a second language (NT2). For over three years now I am doing it full-time and really enjoy it! In the past years I have been able to help many students to pass their 'Inburgeringsexamens ' (A2) or Staatsexamens (B1/B2/C1/C2). With others I work on improving their conversation skills and/or use of ‘corporate Dutch’. Early 2023 I started providing in-company trainings as well. After studying Dutch and Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam I ventured into creative writing for music-theatre performances, voice-over work, and translated English spoken animated movies into Dutch. Besides this I have been copy-writing professionally many years for various (governmental) campaigns, wrote song lyrics and the odd bit of poetry (as you probably guessed by now...: I love my language!). My educational and professional background provides me with a sharp eye for grammar and a good ear (as a singer and voice-over) for proper pronunciation. If you struggle with the right spelling I gladly give you the insights to solve this issue. Needing to pass an exam...? In the past years I developed a clear path for passing the various exams as quickly as possible (which requires specific focus points and strategies). In short: I love helping you to master my language, be it in person and/or online; the choice is yours! This can be done in various ways, also using creative ones (such as short stories, song lyrics, movies etc...) . While having all the 'standard' methods to rely on for teaching you everything you need to pass the various NT2 exams, I am very open to finding the way of learning that fits you best, depending on your level of Dutch, your interests and goals! Feel free to contact me with any sort of questions you might have.

Fifteen years ago, while giving a course in creative writing, a Dutch language trainer asked me if I wanted to teach Dutch to a few expats. I said yes without really knowing what I was getting into, but things went well and I liked it. At the time I mainly wrote drama series for Dutch and German television. That was a nice job, but gradually I began to write less and teach more. I liked teaching so much that I went back to university to become a certified NT2 (Dutch as 2nd language) teacher. Ever since, I train and teach expats as well as refugees, both with much pleasure. Apart from all the regular subjects, I constantly pay attention to proper and correct pronunciation. Plus, I gladly look into specific problems related to someone's first language ( the "R" for Chinese students, the "H" for many Eastern Europeans). I prefer teaching students from the very beginning (level A0). This way we can be sure of a solid base to build on. Looking forward to meeting you, inspiring you and contributing to your Dutch. * Although I don't mind teaching online once in a while, I prefer giving lessons on location.

Professional, 15 years experience, certified teacher. NOTE: Since my schedule is quite full, please book classes only after I have confirmed my availability ! Private lessons with pleasure, no stress, adapted to your learning style, and level. Focusing on the aspects that are most challenging for you (for example getting more experience in actually speaking Dutch). I use multiple methods, books, strategies to fit your needs. I can help to prepare for inburgeringsexamen or staatsexamen. I am trained as a teacher, I did a master's in economics, and am a certified Dutch teacher with special training to teach Dutch as a foreign language. I'm also an official examiner for the NT2 Staatsexamen. I started AmsterDutch in 2009 and I'm teaching Dutch since then. Lessons can be face to face or online. Online, I normally do 1-hour lessons, not 90 minutes.

Hi, there, hola or better hoi! I'm native Dutch in Brazil at the moment and I've been on and off living abroad/ traveling for the last 10 years. I have an educational background (teacher Social Skills and coaching), but I prefer to teach and help you through experience. During my travels I've been able to learn Spanish and English and therefore I understand the learning process, the insecurity or discomfort of speaking and the value it has when you finally can express yourself and communicate. Language is the way that you can be you, so it's an important part of moving to a new country and trying to build a new life. I mostly like to chat about themes or we can read. If you want to focus on pronunciation or just want to be able to have a conversation. All depending on your level or what aspect you want to focus on. Only available for online teaching. You tell me what you need and we make it work! For example, I helped a girl getting a Dutch job in two months from zero experience. Another one is teaching here for herself now! We can use 'books' or we can make it practical, it's up to you. Hola, o mejor hoi!

Hi! My name is Ella, a 20 y/o student at the University of Amsterdam. I'm a native Dutch speaker and would very much like to help non-natives to improve their Dutch while they're here :) I've heard it's not the easiest language to learn, but that also makes that the Dutch always appreciate any attempt: even a simple "goedemorgen" will put a smile on our face. I believe that speaking and listening in combination with seeing the words is the best way to learn any new language, because then you can connect the sound of a word to it's spelling. Keen to learn Dutch on flexible times and hour rates? Hit me up!

Greetings! My name is Vincent. Although I am native Dutch, I wish to convey my fluency in English; written and hopefully soon, orally. Still, the question remains: WHY would you hire me? Besides my customer support background and hospitality focused education/work, I follow a studio narrator & copywriter classes. To my heart, I believe we would make a - as much as perfect can be - resonating FIT. But most importantly, I care for my clients and truly wish to help them with empathy, diligence, expertise, and kindness.

Hi there! I'm a young and easy-going French and Dutch teacher with 6 years of experience helping kids, adolescents, and adults of all levels (seriously, A1 to B2, I've had it all and I love it.) I am comfortable with various approaches (theory- and grammar-centered, practice- and speech fluency-centered); whichever you need or like most, we can do it. I'm very patient and believe in everyone's potential, even if you think you're not good at languages; they can be hard and French is no exception, but with the right teacher, I promise you quick and satisfying progress is possible :)

Raised in Holland, lived in the USA and Germany, traveling to Portugal regularly. Hotel management in Amsterdam. Marketing in relation to sustainability is what I like to talk about. Socially very active. 50s of age, 40s lifestyle. I am very experienced in teaching and coaching because of my profession and the training that comes with the job. I have lived in Amsterdam for about 30 years. Field hockey and sailing are my sports, house music is what I dance to. I speak Dutch, English, and German fluently, a little French, and I still take Portuguese lessons (Portugal, not Brazil).

Hey, I can bring your Dutch to where it needs to be if you want to have basic conversations. The main thing is to get comfortable to speak, because it’s always scary to speak a new language, that you are afraid to make mistakes. I will offer you like a safe space, I don’t judge, I know how scary it is to learn a new language.

TUTOROO has been designed to provide a frictionless experience while connecting tutors to students, for private in-person language lessons.
