I can only accommodate adult students* My name is Mieke van Eijndhoven. After studying social science at the University of Amsterdam, I studied English. I did some translation work and taught young adults in school. My wish for teaching is to help keep my language alive. Another reason is the many holidays in Turkey I had over a period of ten years. I didn’t speak any Turkish, and nobody spoke English. So I started a Turkish course. After two years, I had a solid base to enjoy the country much more. If you want to reach stability in the Dutch language, I can help. We read, listen, and talk you through it in my native language. In general, you can do your A2 exam after 6 month's. Enough for your inburgering. My method will be partly grammar and practice a lot with reading, writing, listening, and talking. I still learn about my own language by teaching it, which is very nice. Let me know your wishes about days and hours, and I will tell you mine. A2: For doing your A2 exam (inburgering) you need at least 6 month's with two lessons per week if you start from schratsch. B1: Next level B1 takes another year, and again two lessons per week of 1 or 1,5 hours is best. How easy it is depends on your background: -Which country are you from -your education. My qualification is teaching experience of 10 years with a sense of humor.

I am a Dutch as a second language teacher for Dutch kids who lives in Melbourne. These kids either moved to Melbourne and have at least one Dutch parents and want to keep their Dutch language and culture alive, which I am helping them with. I also work with Australian kids in Child Care and teaching them how to write and speak Dutch as well. Furthermore I work as a Life Coach helping women with achieving a healthy body, mind and diet so that they feel good and confident about themselves. And have a background in working with High School student in cultural exchange programs like High School abroad. I base my classes on the experience, goals and topics kids and students like to learn, though I usually base my classes on themes as this makes it more exciting to learn Dutch. In groups I can easily adjust the level to each kid so that they can get the most out of it. I also find it really important to teach what the kids or student would like to learn. E.g. If they want to travel to the Netherlands, you get to learn sentences that are handy to use whilst on holidays or on business. If kids like sports and colors, they'll get to learn that. My philosophy is to build rapport with my students and engage with them so that I can complement their growth and strengths whilst teaching Dutch.
