I am a Dutch teacher for ex-pats, with over ten years of teaching experience. I have taught English as a second language for over ten years and have been teaching Dutch to ex-pats since 2017. I thoroughly enjoy connecting to and working with my students and making having fun and feeling relaxed the most important part of the lesson, that way, learning happens easily. I like to make my students feel at ease so that they can work on their confidence, which I feel is key when learning anything new. Come and learn Dutch with me and I will have you talking in no time :)

Hello everyone! My name is Yinor and I was born and raised in The Netherlands, so my mother tongue is Dutch. I have lived there for 25 years before I decided to move to HK. I am also fluent in English and Cantonese. I also speak Wenzhou-Chinese and Mandarin but not at a fluent level. Anyone who wants to learn Dutch English or Cantonese, I am ready to assist you. With Dutch being my mother tongue, I am able to have different approaches for learning Dutch and will tailor it to every student's needs. Nothing is impossible, we will make it work! I am also more than happy to tell you all about our culture and share my life experiences with you. Location in HK is not an issue for me, I am sure we can work something out together. Looking forward to meeting you!

My name is Mieke van Eijndhoven. After a study of social science at the University of Amsterdam I studied English. I did some translation work and teached young adults in school.. My whish for teaching is to help keeping my language alive. Another reason is the many holidays in Turkey I had for over a period of ten years. I didn’t speak any Turkish and nobody spoke English. So I started a Turkish course. After two years I had a solid base to enjoy the country much more. My method will be partly grammar and a bit reading and for another part communication by talking. If you want to reach stability in Dutch language I can help. We read, listen and talk you through my native language. In general you can reach a good level after one year. I still learn about my own language by teaching it, which is very nice. Let me know your wishes about days and hours and I will tell you mine.

Hallo, I'm Jesse and I am a Dutch person residing in Ireland. I've got 14 years of full time conversational & academic Dutch under my belt as well as 6 years and a half years of part time experience. Teaching (Half-)Dutch & (Half-)Belgian kids as a class assistant at the Dutch Language and Culture Saturday school which caters to 4 to 13 years old. Have done some casual-style teaching of Dutch with teens up to 18 years old. With me you will learn what YOU would like to know, we tailor to your interests, hobbies and needs. Besides that we can also cover recent slang language, Dutch music, culture & entertainment, geography, food, politics and holidays as understanding the culture is key to understanding language. Any teaching format is open to try-outs: Reading academic texts and literature, watching (educational) movies, YouTube(r) videos, reading prescribed books/magazines & websites and prescribed mingling with Dutch speaking individuals through niche-interest communities. Disclaimer: I am NOT a teacher of the Dutch Leaving Certificate, HOWEVER, I am open to tutoring these students. There are no guarantees on performance or results. The sooner you get involved with your child's extra language education, the better (think 1st year through mid-5th year). Language assessment and general feedback are during the first class (40-45 minutes). In-person walks, a coffee meeting, lunch or even on Zoom/Google Meet/Microsoft Team are all allowed. No Skype.

I am a Dutch guy travelling the world. I've always been fascinated by languages and how they relate to each other. I am a native Dutch speaker but I grew up in an area heavily influenced by local dialect and Flemish. Throughout school, I was taught several languages: French, German, Latin, and Ancient Greek. I chose to start learning Norwegian myself which I am still doing to this day. I have lived in the Netherlands, Finland, and Norway. I worked as a volunteer language teacher before at Norsksenter in Kongsberg, I helped refugees learn English during this time. Furthermore, in my spare time, I am a moderator for some online German communities. Lastly, I am a huge fan of language cafés, and I love to hear a good story.

I am a Dutch as a second language teacher for Dutch kids who lives in Melbourne. These kids either moved to Melbourne and have at least one Dutch parents and want to keep their Dutch language and culture alive, which I am helping them with. I also work with Australian kids in Child Care and teaching them how to write and speak Dutch as well. Furthermore I work as a Life Coach helping women with achieving a healthy body, mind and diet so that they feel good and confident about themselves. And have a background in working with High School student in cultural exchange programs like High School abroad. I base my classes on the experience, goals and topics kids and students like to learn, though I usually base my classes on themes as this makes it more exciting to learn Dutch. In groups I can easily adjust the level to each kid so that they can get the most out of it. I also find it really important to teach what the kids or student would like to learn. E.g. If they want to travel to the Netherlands, you get to learn sentences that are handy to use whilst on holidays or on business. If kids like sports and colors, they'll get to learn that. My philosophy is to build rapport with my students and engage with them so that I can complement their growth and strengths whilst teaching Dutch.

And yes, also the coffeshops😁 I am a tutor in Dutch, but I learn you the fast way, the practical way. After the first lesson you know how to take a bus, or a tram. You know how to ask the way, go links or rechts. I will give you tips for places to go and always give you sentences you need. I teach a long time already, but I combine it with things you like to know when you are there. Dutch is easier than you think!

My name is Michael, I moved to Israel from Belgium 4 and a half years ago. Dutch and French are both my native languages. As I grew up in Antwerp, which is the Flemish part of Belgium, I am perfectly bilingual in French and Flemish (Belgian Dutch). I studied my Bachelors Degree in English and have been working many years using it as a main language, therefore my fluency in English. Flemish is exactly like Dutch, but with softer pronunciation, so I am sure it will be easy and fun for you to learn it. Looking forward to teach you. Michael

I am a mom of 5 children and I helped my children learning languages too. I also taught Shantala massage to about 40 groups. I love to start speaking and help you to get used to the Dutch and English language! If you don’t try, it will always come back to you! Dutch is not as difficult as Hebrew, but not as easy as English. It is a different way of pronouncing. Like we always say: if you can speak Dutch: you can speak any language. The sounds like g and ch are difficult, but you will be fine for sure!
