Hi, I’m Wendy – Mandarin Teacher based in Auckland

Hello! My name is Wendy. I offer Mandarin lessons both online and in person.

I was born in China and am now based in Auckland, New Zealand. Having gone through the full journey of learning English myself, I understand what it takes to master a completely different language system. This experience allows me to support my students with empathy, patience, and practical strategies.

I have one year of teaching experience, and I specialize in interactive classes that are fun, engaging, and student-centered. I sometimes take students outside the classroom for real-life learning experiences — for example, attending a local Chinese New Year festival and practicing Mandarin in a natural setting.

Before starting lessons, I always take the time to understand each student’s needs and goals. From there, I develop a customized learning plan tailored just for them. I'm also flexible — if an interesting topic comes up, I’m happy to adjust the lesson and explore it together.
