I grew up in Turkey and lived there for 19 years, therefore I'm proficient in the street usage of the language, its vernaculars for different regions, and the academic/literary usage of Istanbul Turkish in reading and writing. I'm a philosophy student at KU Leuven at the moment. I studied in an American high school in Istanbul before coming to Belgium, which allowed me to combine both Anglophone and Turkish curriculums while becoming proficient in both languages.
