I was born and raised in Kenya. My first language is Swahili, English is my second, and Arabic is my third. I moved to the United States when I was 20 years old, and I have lived here for seven years now. When I was studying at the University of Houston, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for beginner Arabic students. I want to apply the teaching experience that I got from tutoring Arabic to teaching Swahili, which is the language I'm most fluent in. I have an interest in making comparisons between words and their usage across different languages.
