I am Rebecca, a Ghanaian and native speaker of the Twi language, currently based in England. I work freelance from home. I love to impart knowledge to others. In about my 4 years experience of teaching Twi to different age ranges, I have often resorted to engaging students more other than lecturing them. One way I did so was by having an informal conversation with them in Twi to determine their strengths and weaknesses in the language, and helped them accordingly. Also, in order to test their reading and writing skills, I usually gave a brief assignment at the end of each lesson. This teaching style I adopted proved to be of great help to my students, who have now become fluent speakers, good readers and writers of the Twi language. One thing that helped me to succeed as a teacher was cultivating patience. Being passionate to help others learn the language, I never got upset when students made or repeated mistakes; rather, I patiently corrected them. This helped my students to make fine progress and also, made it easy for them to freely approach me whenever they encountered problems with learning the language. Twi is one of the easiest languages to learn. With determination and hard work on a student's part, Twi can be learnt within a maximum of 3 months. With my teaching experience, I believe I can be of great help to those seeking to learn the Twi language.
