I am 47 years old Turkish ex-pat have been living in Qatar for the last 15 years. I have worked in different cultural centers as a tutor. I am able to teach both Turkish and English languages in theory and in practice. Turkish is a language from the Ural-Altai family that belongs to the Altai branch. Related to Hungarian, Finnish, Mongolian, Korean, and Japanese. Turkish that we speak in Turkey is a slang of a large-spread language. Other Turkish slang and dialects are spoken by the local population: in Cyprus, Greece (West Trakia area), Bulgaria, Serbia (Sanjak), Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosova, Romania (Gagauzia), Dağıstan, Azerbaijan, İran (South Azerbaijan), Crimea, Türkmenistan, Uzbekistan, East Türkistan (Uighur or Xingciang), Iraq (Mousoul, Türkmeneli, Tuzhurmatu, and Kirkuk area), Syria (Haleb, Hama, Humus, Türkmen dağı area), Kazakhstan, Kırgızistan, Afghanistan (Uzbek and Hazara settlements), Başkurtia, Tatarstan, Altai, Mongolia (Kazakh and Uzbek settlements), Tuva and Yakutsk. On the other hand, there are estimated 7 million Turkish Turks living in Europe and the USA, of which 4 million of them are in Germany alone, making Germany a non-Turkic country where Turkish is widely spoken.
