(Online Lessons Only) I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you a bit about who I am. I was born and raised in the countryside of Toyama, Japan. When I got older I relocated to the big bustling metropolis of Tokyo. I lived there for a decade but I always yearned to immerse myself in Western culture. I read and listened to programs, but it was not enough. I needed something more. And so I decided to pick up my life and move to Canada. I chose Vancouver, British Columbia where I lived for three and half years as an actor. I learned and lived as a Canadian and more than that, became an artist in the film and television industry. After I schooled both in and out of the classroom, I flew for a vacation to Ho Chi Minh City. I liked it so much that I stayed and began working as a Japanese and English tutor. What makes me unique is how I incorporate my acting skills with teaching. That love of language, I want to pass on to you. Since I am able to read and write in English well, I can explain your English questions in Japanese even if some of you only know the basics. For intermediate or advanced-level learners, I can help you work on your pronunciation and most importantly show you certain phrases to help you navigate various occasions. Every situation is different, therefore it is useful to know keywords and the coupling of those words to form ideas. Those ideas can get you a job, or win you friends. Along with those words I can teach you the tone of voice to use with your different emotions. You see, Japanese has less inflection compared to the English language but we still express words differently with the tone of voice.
