Hello! I am a native German speaker with more than 20 years of experience in teaching and tutoring children, teenagers and adults. I have worked both with tutoring institutes and independently. I believe language lessons work best when you feel comfortable enough to speak, ask questions and make mistakes. I explain things clearly and patiently, and if something does not make sense the first time, I am always happy to find another way of explaining it. For adults, lessons can focus on practical German for everyday life in Switzerland, conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary or German for work. We can practise real situations such as talking to colleagues, making appointments, speaking with teachers or simply becoming more confident in everyday conversations. Some learners want to improve their speaking, others need more structure in grammar or vocabulary, and some mainly want to feel more comfortable using German in daily life. I also enjoy working with children and teenagers and adapt the lessons to their age, level and way of learning. I have a university degree in Communication Science and speak fluent English. Especially for beginners, I can therefore explain more difficult points in English when useful. For me, a good lesson is one where you leave with the feeling that something has become clearer and that using German feels a little easier than before.
