Hello, my name is Simone. I was born in Austria but I lived many years in the Netherlands (fluent Dutch) and now my city of residence in Brussels. In the Netherlands, I became a 'German as foreign language' teacher at an International school (I taught in kindergarten, primary and secondary school) and also a tutor mainly privately. I helped many pupils to improve their language skills (grades) as they were advanced/native speakers but also I was happy to teach children, students, and adults alike who were beginners. Since September 2022 I am also a primary teacher in Brussels. My school is a bilingual international school and next to primary classes I also teach pupils in extra curriculum 'German writing' and in a kindergarten. Being a German tutor/teacher for more than 10 years for both adults and children is maybe not my profession (I have studied a STEM subject) but my calling. German native speaker offers conversations about political and philosophical issues in German. But also fit in explaining grammatical rules and basic knowledge of the language. NOT a trained educator, but basic journalistic training and activity as a moderator testify to the fun of dealing with language. Unfortunately, German is not an easy language and contrary to the reputation of the Germans, German is not always logically structured. On the contrary, it plays with the position of words within a sentence and, with the combination of individual words to form a new word, can contribute to confusion, but also to the clarification of language. Whether someone can learn German easily certainly depends on their individual circumstances. Is one's mother tongue from the European environment or not, does one already speak some other languages or not, and on whether one enjoys learning!
