Hi, I am currently a graduate student in Montreal. My mother tongue is Chinese/Mandarin. I really love studying different languages. I could speak English and Chinese. I could also speak some French and Japanese. I have some experience teaching Chinese as a tutor during my undergrad. It's not easy from the beginning, but once you could have some basic communication, it should be fast for you to speak. Actually the most difficult part of Chinese is the writing and reading because it's not alphabetic. We should start with "pin yin", to make it alphabetic and transfer it into different phonemes. After that, it's going to be easier. Maybe it would take you some time to speak Chinese, but if you could say something Chinese with your friends, you must be the coolest guy ever.
