I offer tailored and interactive Sinhalese language lessons. My lessons emphasise practical language application by incorporating real-world scenarios, enabling students to gain confidence in everyday Sinhalese interactions through conversational practice. To reinforce language skills, I encourage immersive activities such as watching Sinhalese films, and listening to Sinhalese music.
Should students desire, I extend beyond language skills to provide insight into Sinhalese culture; lessons may explore traditions, festivals, customs, and social norms.
About me:
I am native Sinhalese speaker and grew up in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I received an A for Sinhala language and literature in my ordinary level exams. I am now in my final year of medical school in the UK. I am excited to share Sinhalese language and culture with those interested!!

The ease of learning Sinhala depends on various factors, including your native language, previous language learning experiences, and personal learning preferences.
Sinhalese has its own script, which may pose a challenge for learners not familiar with non-Latin scripts. However, the pronunciation is straightforward, with a phonetic correlation between written and spoken forms.
Sinhalese grammar has unique features, but is considered less complex than other South Asian languages. The absence of grammatical gender and a relatively simple verb conjugation system may make it easier for learners.
