Japanese for Business & Daily Life 🌸 Learn with a Friendly

Private Japanese Tutor in Hong Kong and Online

Hi, I’m Michiru 😊🌸
I’m a native Japanese speaker from Japan. I’ve worked in global Strategic consulting firm and advertising companies and also have experience in English–Japanese localization, so I can help you with both natural daily Japanese and polite business expressions.

When I was in high school, I studied abroad in Sweden, so I know what it feels like to learn a new language in a different culture. During my university years, I also taught Japanese language and culture to exchange students, and I really enjoyed supporting their learning. These experiences help me understand my students’ challenges and make lessons more effective and enjoyable.

If you want to practice speaking face to face, I’d love to support you!I’m very friendly and talkative, so you’ll feel comfortable practicing conversation with me. If you prefer online lessons, I can be a bit more flexible with the schedule.
And if you’re already learning from a textbook, I can help you go through it step by step, answer your questions, and give you extra practice.

My hobbies are yoga, the ocean, and cats 🐈.
I’ve also taught yoga before, and through that experience I realized how much I enjoy teaching and connecting with people.
I bring the same positive and supportive approach to my Japanese lessons, so you can feel relaxed and enjoy learning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Japanese easy to learn?

If you already understand Cantonese or Mandarin, reading and writing might feel easier for you because we use many of the same kanji.
The good news is that pronunciation is much simpler compared to Cantonese — once you learn the basic sounds, it’s easy to say words correctly.

Is it difficult to learn Japanese in Hong Kong?

Many Japanese learners say that keigo (polite language) is difficult.
Even for native speakers, sonkeigo (respectful language) and kenjougo (humble language) can sometimes be tricky. Business Japanese can also feel a little complex.

But don’t worry — with my experience in localization and working in both Japanese and global companies, I can help you use the correct expressions with confidence.
