Hello everyone! I'm a professional Japanese language teacher with two qualifications in Japanese language teaching. I've worked in marketing for luxury brands in the United States and Europe for over 20 years. Leveraging that experience, I specialize in conversation lessons on real-world topics like business, current events, and culture. I'm able to teach Japanese that's immediately useful for traveling and business in Japan, while also providing clear instruction on the context and nuances of the language. My hobbies are yoga, Pilates, and running. I'm currently interested in fermented foods and gluten-free baking. I've studied the tea ceremony for over 10 years and am well-versed in Japanese culture and etiquette. I speak Japanese (native), English (fluent), and French (daily conversation). I'd love to connect with people from all over the world online.
I have passed the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology Certified and Registered Japanese Language Teacher Exam and completed a 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course, which is registered with the Agency for Cultural Affairs. I have over 600 online lessons under my belt. I tailor the content to suit each learner's goals and level, striving to make lessons easy to continue. I have taught a variety of purposes, including preparation for further education and interviews, as well as the Japanese language skills needed for living and working in Japan. I also have experience in producing videos for Japanese language learning.
In the first lesson, I would like to learn about your goals and any concerns you may have. I will assess your level and suggest a personalized learning plan.
There are many foreign workers, and repeat visitors to Japan are in Hong Kong. And you can see them speak surprisingly fluent Japanese, which makes you think, "Maybe I can do it too." Also, although Japan is making progress in cashless payments, e-banking, and e-commerce, there are still many opportunities for face-to-face communication. Japanese is essential for daily life; there are inevitably more opportunities to use Japanese, and as a result, there are more opportunities to use Japanese than in other regions. Thus, I can say that Tokyo is an ideal city to learn Japanese quickly and easily than other cities.
It is said to be the most difficult language in the world to learn, so learning Japanese is not easy. However, current language education is not about speaking with perfect grammar. The goal is ”CAN-DO" what you need to do on your own, and accepting diverse Japanese is also a national guideline. In that sense, I am convinced that it is not difficult at all to acquire the Japanese you need.
