Because Filipino is spoken so widely and there are opportunities to immerse oneself in the language in Cebu City and in Cagayan de Oro, it may be possible to learn up the language more quickly than in other places. However, the ease with which you could learn is ultimately determined by your own circumstances, level of dedication, and willingness to immerse yourself in the language and culture of the target language.
Depending on who you ask, learning the Filipino language might be simple or challenging. Some claim Tagalog is simple to learn in comparison to other languages, while others think it is a difficult language to learn and understand. This discrepancy is due to the numerous factors involved in the process of learning and mastering a new language. Regardless matter how slowly or quickly you learn, one thing stays constant: you must begin at the bottom (also known as the beginner level). You may grasp very basic Tagalog words and know how to use ordinary expressions at the beginner level. You also understand how to introduce yourself and others, as well as how to ask and answer questions concerning personal information. These particulars contain information such as where you live, your age, and so on. You can also converse in a straightforward manner as long as the person you're speaking with speaks slowly and plainly. If you must inquire, How many hours should you learn Filipino to reach the beginning level?
This is determined by a number of things. Let's pretend you're fluent in English. In this situation, learning basic Filipino will take you roughly 150-200 hours (assuming you study at least one hour per session on a daily basis). This includes remembering basic Filipino vocabulary, understanding how to use them in sentences, and practicing with a local speaker. Assume you've already studied basic Filipino for 200 hours. You should be ready to move on to the intermediate level by this point. When you finish this level, you will be able to understand crucial points regarding work, school, and other topics more easily. You'll also find it easy to construct short phrases on things you're familiar with.
You will feel more at ease expressing yourself, particularly when recounting events and experiences. You may also be more proficient around this period, allowing you to converse more freely with native speakers. You'll need to study for another 250-300 hours to do this. When you achieve the Advanced level, you will be practically as fluent in Filipino as you are in your native language. You will now be able to write well-structured, thorough sentences on any topic, simple or difficult. You will also be able to comprehend difficult texts and their latent meaning. Furthermore, you will be at ease expressing yourself freely without having to search for words. You can now utilize Filipino for professional and academic purposes, rather than merely informal discussions. You'll need to study for another 550-600 hours to move from the intermediate level to the advanced level.
