Hi! I'm Loren from Bacolod City, Philippines ๐ต๐ญ*
I'm a friendly and patient Tagalog and Bisaya tutor, and I would love to help you learn Filipino languages in a fun and relaxed way!
I grew up speaking *Tagalog and Bisaya/Hiligaynon* at home, so I can teach you real, everyday conversations that Filipinos actually use. Not just textbook Filipino. I want you to sound natural when you talk to locals, travel in the Philippines, or connect with Filipino friends and family.
*What will our lessons be like?*
My classes are very chill and conversational. No pressure, no boring grammar drills unless you want them!
We can talk about anything you like: food, travel, culture, daily life in the Philippines, music, or even your work.
I will correct your mistakes gently and teach you new words and phrases as we go. I also love explaining Filipino culture and expressions that you won't find in books. Like "bahala na", "laban lang", or "kilig" ๐
*I can help you with:*
1. *Beginner Tagalog/Bisaya* - Learn basic greetings, introductions, and common phrases
2. *Conversational Practice* - Build confidence speaking. Weโll do role-plays like ordering food, shopping, or small talk
3. *Pronunciation* - Make sure you sound clear and natural
4. *Vocabulary + Slang* - Learn useful words that Filipinos use daily
5. *Culture Lessons* - Understand Filipino values, traditions, and humor
*Why learn with me?*
I'm very patient and I understand that learning a new language can feel scary. We will go at YOUR pace. If you make a mistake, that's okay! That's how we learn. My goal is to make you feel comfortable so you can speak without fear.
Iโm also flexible with time. I can adjust to your schedule. And because Iโm from Bacolod, I can teach you both *Tagalog* which is the national language, and *Bisaya/Hiligaynon* which is spoken by 20+ million people in Visayas and Mindanao.
*A little about me:*
I'm from Bacolod City, known as the "City of Smiles". I love Filipino food, especially chicken inasal and halo-halo! In my free time I like watching movies, listening to OPM music, and talking with people. I believe the best way to learn a language is through real conversations and laughter.
Whether youโre learning for travel, work, or to talk to your Filipino partner/friends, Iโm here to help you.
Let's make learning Filipino fun together!
*Book a lesson with me now and letโs start speaking Tagalog/Bisaya!*
*Maraming salamat and see you in class!* ๐ต๐ญ
Learning Filipino in San Diego is very doable, especially with the help of a native tutor online. Filipino is considered one of the easier Asian languages for English speakers because the pronunciation is straightforward and the grammar is simple. With regular practice, like 2-3 times a week, you can have basic conversations in 2-3 months. The key is speaking often and learning useful, everyday phrases. As your tutor, I can guide you step by step and make it fun and easy.
The easiest way to learn Filipino in San Diego is through 1-on-1 online lessons with a native speaker. This way you can practice speaking right away and get immediate feedback on pronunciation. Aside from lessons, watching Filipino movies, listening to OPM music, and practicing with apps helps too. But the fastest way is to actually talk! In our lessons, weโll focus on real conversations, useful vocabulary, and Filipino culture so you learn naturally and not just from books.
