Hello! I recently moved to Italy after having lived in Spain for 3 years, working as an English assistant at elementary schools while giving both private and group lessons to students between 2 to 65 years of age. I have two bachelor's degrees (in Spanish and International Studies) from the US and am about to start studying computer science in Pisa.
I've lived most of my life in Florida, and am a language learner myself (Spanish, Russian, and Italian), so I understand how daunting it may seem to even start studying the language. That said, I think it's an amazing goal and can be such a great boost in many other areas of life :) My main goal as a teacher has always been to have fun and to help other learners have a great time getting to know more about the world and the culture(s) behind the language they study. Another one is to build students' self-confidence. Having the belief in yourself that you are capable is the key to learning anything new.
I think English, while it has its peculiarities, can definitely be easier and more enjoyable to learn when supplemented with films, music, and day-to-day conversations. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I don't think it has to be difficult with a good mindset. With more time and practice, as well as openness to trying different exercises and methods, it can be a great time!
It depends on how much time you have to practice, especially consistently. A little every day goes a long way, so every study session helps.
