A patient, fun and engaging tutor

I'm Carrie a mainland Chinese graduate from NTU! I’m experienced in teaching elites, international students, and children conversational, business, and HSK Chinese and primary 1 to sec 4 Chinese as well as students from international schools for 8 years. I’m also capable of translating documents and product posters on a side note for my students to better understand when they are dealing with clients/colleagues overseas. Being a native Mandarin speaker and received 18 years of education in Singapore, I’m equipped with a very strong background in both Chinese and English which allows me to help my students understand my lessons better by interchanging between languages with ease. To help my students in better grasp the language, I provide structured lessons and materials with respect to their needs. To aid them in their learning and make it more practical I will conduct lessons by wrapping real-life scenarios and stories with different topics. I firmly believe understanding is important while learning so I will conduct the lesson in both Chinese and English and even come up with stories to help students understand and remember better. Small quizzes (in English) will be given at the end of the lesson, answers will be in pinyin or Chinese (depending on students). I'm also experienced in teaching MOE primary school subjects: math & Chinese.
Usual teaching package for elite adults:
1. Chinese sentence laws ( know how to form a complete sentence)
2. Pinyin( for those with 0 / little knowledge)
3. Basic Chinese ( very commonly used words)
4. Chinese Dialogues ( train pronunciation and make lessons more light-weighted in between)
5. Scenario Chinese ( expose to phrases/vocabulary for daily usage in different scenarios)
6. Homework will be given wrt capabilities and will be tested and checked.
7. Tests ( affirm memory)
Lesson for non-Chinese children:
1. Drawings to help remember Chinese characters
2. Playing words and drawing mix match game
3. Telling stories to help remember the pronunciation and characters
