I graduated from Al al-Bayt University, in English Language and Literature major, then I worked as an English Language teacher in public school in Jordan. During that, I participated in numerous events and conferences such as the ninth Annual English Language Conference and Shaping the Way We Teach conferences from 2014 to 2018 organized by the American Embassy in Amman. I continued to improve myself and develop my skills in this field, as I studied a Master Degree in Curricula and Instructions in the English Language, Teaching English as a Foreign Language TEFL from Al al-Bayt University 2015. After that, I worked in English Access Microscholarship Program funded by US department state in Jordan as English Language Instructor and Communication Skills trainer and I got a certificate of appreciation from American Embassy in Amman for providing 400 hours of instruction and 80 hours of cultural enhancement activities in the English Access Microscholarship Program. Then, I got the opportunity to study International Diploma in IT Skills from Cambridge International Examinations, by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization in 2016, to improve and strengthen the use of technology in teaching the English Language. Furthermore, I was an English Language Trainer in different Human Organizations such as ACTED Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development Organization; I helped the employees to improve their English Language, Business Writing, and communication skills. In addition, I participated in Managerial Skills for Technical Teachers and Administrators training course from the National Institute of Technical Teachers and Administrators Training & Research, in Bhopal, India 2018. I participated in a Field Research on Life of Syrian Refugees in Mafraq / Jordan with the Faculty of International Studies from Meji Gakuin University, Yokohama Japan and many others. All that I mentioned enabled me to meet new people with different opinions, and hence, made me open-minded and welcoming toward others. Through these interactions, I discovered new perspectives that helped me enhance my understanding of the world and through reflection also changed how I perceived myself. It helped me discover my talents, strengths, and weaknesses. It trained me to be an achiever and a responsible leader, but most of all an independent and moral human being.

Teaching Arabic slang is not only about language—it’s about unlocking a living culture, building real connections, and helping students navigate the everyday world with ease. As a teacher of Arabic slang, I bring a fresh, practical approach to language learning that goes beyond textbooks and grammar drills. My lessons will bridge the gap between formal Arabic and the rich, colorful expressions used daily by millions of native speakers across the Arab world. Firstly, my strength as a teacher lies in understanding that language is deeply tied to culture, humor, and social context. Arabic, as a language, has a wide range of dialects, each with its own slang, idioms, and phrases that carry meanings far deeper than literal translations. I am passionate about introducing students to this informal, real-life side of the language, because this is the Arabic they will hear on the streets, in cafés, in songs, movies, and social media—not the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) used in formal settings. This approach will make their learning experience more enjoyable, relatable, and directly applicable to daily life situations. By focusing on slang, I will teach students how to communicate in a way that sounds natural to native speakers. They will learn how to greet friends casually, joke in a culturally appropriate way, express surprise, agreement, frustration, and many other feelings that formal Arabic simply cannot capture in the same way. My teaching style will emphasize spoken practice, role-playing real-life scenarios like bargaining in a market, ordering food, asking for directions, chatting with locals, or participating in casual conversations. This will give my students confidence and fluency in everyday Arabic interactions. One of the key ways my teaching will facilitate students’ lives is by reducing misunderstandings that often arise when learners rely solely on formal Arabic. Native speakers rarely use MSA in daily conversation. A student who speaks only formal Arabic may sound distant, overly stiff, or even unintentionally funny to locals. In contrast, a student who can comfortably use slang will be warmly welcomed, better understood, and even seen as someone who appreciates and respects the local culture. This opens the door to genuine relationships, networking opportunities, and deeper immersion in the society they are living or traveling in. Another advantage is that my lessons will also help students decode Arabic social media, films, series, and music—where slang is king. Understanding these cultural products will greatly enrich their knowledge of current trends, humor, and the mindset of various Arab communities. They won’t just “know Arabic” in the academic sense; they’ll live the language. Finally, I bring patience, cultural insight, and creativity into my teaching. I will make the lessons dynamic, filled with real examples from different Arab countries, so students can grasp the diversity of Arabic slang across regions—whether it’s Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf, or Maghrebi. I will encourage curiosity, make mistakes feel safe, and create an environment where language is learned as it is truly spoken. In short, my teaching of Arabic slang will not only equip students with valuable communication skills—it will make their lives smoother, richer, and far more connected to the Arab world.

I have taught Arabic to foreigners since I was a student in university. I enjoy learning about my language and I have a lot of experience with it. Arabic has different accents, but most of Arabic countries understand Jordanian Arabic. Arabic has 24 Alphabet letters, we have consonants and vowels. I think learners face challenges with pronunciation with some letters because we have some letters that aren't similar to any language, also grammar is not easy at all, but I think speaking by practising is the easiest thing.
