I am a 37-year-old music teacher situated in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa.
I obtained a BMus degree in 2009, specializing in Music Education. I have been teaching individual- as well as group music lessons to children ever since I graduated.
My first language is Afrikaans and I obtained an A-average for Afrikaans first language at the end of my Grade 12 year in High School.
I am proud of my language and love writing Afrikaans poems. Because Afrikaans is a Germanic language, some words are similar to German words. Afrikaans primarily originated from Dutch, with a few other influences from Malaysia and even the Khoi San. Some Afrikaans words are even the same as some Indonesian words!
