My name is Ibrahim Adesola, I am a native Yoruba person who hail from Osun state, Nigeria. I am a university graduate who is personate about teaching.
I am a young man who is not only a teacher but also a passionate advocate for the Yoruba language, striving to make it both relevant and enjoyable for learners of all ages. With a bright, determined expression and a twinkle in my eyes, my love for the language is evident in everything I do. I carried myself with the energy of someone who is both youthful and deeply aware of the importance of cultural preservation. My long-term goal is to bridge the generational gap in Yoruba language use, especially among young people who may be drifting away from their linguistic heritage in the face of globalization.
Physically, I have a confident yet humble presence, often seen wearing a mix of modern and traditional Yoruba clothing—such as a bright agbada showing that I value both contemporary and traditional expressions of Yoruba culture. My hands are often seen gesturing with excitement as I teach, emphasizing my interactive, engaging approach to instruction.
Beyond the classroom, I am a cultural ambassador, organizing language clubs, and events that celebrate Yoruba literature. I believe that learning Yoruba should extend beyond mere vocabulary and grammar, incorporating elements of Yoruba philosophy, proverbs, and folklore into lessons. My students admire my approachable nature, as I make them feel comfortable and motivated to speak and practice the language. Whether teaching in schools, community centers, or online platforms, my ultimate goal is to build a lasting love for the Yoruba language in the hearts of my students, ensuring its survival for generations to come.
