Habari! My name is Peter, a native Swahili speaker originally from East Africa, now based in Amsterdam. I grew up speaking Swahili as part of daily life — in the home, the community, and across East Africa — which means I teach the language the way it is truly spoken, not just from a textbook.
I offer conversational and practical Swahili lessons tailored to your goals. Whether you are a curious learner, a professional working with East African partners, or someone planning to travel or relocate to Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda — I will guide you step by step.
My teaching style is warm, patient, and structured. We start with the basics — greetings, pronunciation, and everyday phrases — and build from there at your pace. Swahili is one of the most logical and accessible African languages, and with the right guidance, you will be surprised how quickly you progress.
Living in Amsterdam, I understand the multicultural environment here and adapt my lessons to fit your lifestyle and schedule. Online or in person — let's make Swahili part of your world.
The easiest way is through consistent conversation practice with a native speaker. Swahili has a very regular grammar structure, so once you learn the patterns, it clicks fast. I combine simple vocabulary building with real-life dialogues, so you start speaking from lesson one.
With regular sessions — even just 1 to 2 hours per week — most students can hold basic conversations within 2 to 3 months. Swahili is considered one of the easier African languages for new learners. Consistency matters more than intensity.
