¡Hola! My name is Silvia and I am a native professional Spanish tutor from Madrid.
Shortly after qualifying as a lawyer I discovered teaching was my real calling. I then trained as a Spanish language teacher for several more years and have never looked back. In the past sixteen years I have taught every level and age group, both one to one and in small groups.
I will help you master general or business Spanish, succeed in your examinations (DELE, high school, university) or simply learn the basics quickly and above all, enjoyably :)
Everything about the lessons will be tailored to you, your preferences and your objectives, and all materials provided. I am a creator of teaching materials so we will be using some of my own.
Everyone can be good at languages, we just learn differently and have different interests. I love seeing my students gain confidence and achieve their goals, while having fun in the process.
Like many of us I was introduced to online learning in 2020. I used to think in-person teaching had the edge on online tuition but I soon discovered this is definitely not the case, and now I teach exclusively online.

What is the easiest way to learn Spanish in Madrid?
If you are lucky enough to be learning the language in one of the 20 Spanish-speaking countries my best advice would be to:
- become a language sponge - don’t miss any opportunity to read (anything from billboards to supermarket labels) and listen (eavesdropping is a must here).
- speak to everyone (definitely strangers too) and don’t forget that communication is your main goal: latinos won’t even blink if you make mistakes, they will be delighted to get to know you.
How much time does it take to learn Spanish in Madrid?
If you are learning in a Spanish-speaking country you can become fluent in under eight months, and sooner if you already speak another language, particularly a Romance one.
And as nowadays you have access to a myriad of resources online, even if you are not immersed in the language geographically you can become fluent in under a year, providing you are dedicated.
