Private Spanish Tutor in City of London and Online

I am a native speaker from the South of Spain with a passion for teaching languages and culture. I studied a BA (Hons.) in Linguistics at Universidad de Malaga (Spain) and a postgraduate diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language before moving to the UK, where I have worked as a translator, MFL teacher specialized in Spanish, and Head of Languages at a secondary school. I consider myself a dedicated, industrious, and fun person and my rapport with students is always excellent. I teach fast-paced lessons in which my students can notice they are making rapid progress and develop both their communicative competence and understanding of the mechanics of Spanish grammar. Having taught in secondary school settings for years, I now want to focus on teaching adults and university students, which I truly enjoy.

I have taught Spanish in a range of settings for over 10 years. I have tutored university students and adults as a freelance tutor, both online and face-to-face. As a Foreign Language Assistant, I taught conversational and grammar-focused lessons to native speakers who wanted to perfect their language and near-native and fluent speakers in preparation for the DELE/DELE Escolar diplomas. After completing my PGCE at King's College London and obtaining Qualified Teacher Status, I taught for 7 years in secondary school settings, teaching KS3, GCSE, and A-level students, as well as preparing some students who wanted to obtain a DELE diploma. I was Head of Languages for over three years, leading an extremely successful faculty. My students have consistently obtained excellent results in public examinations and enjoyed learning Spanish with me. I believe that, when students feel they are making rapid progress, they stay motivated and gain the confidence they need to put their learning into practice in real life.

My approach combines the communicative method and task-based/ task-supported approach with new research-based methods such as Extensive Processing Instruction, Lexical grammar, and input-based approaches such as Input Processing. I tailor my lessons according to my student's needs and objectives.
