I am Japanese, living in Tokyo. I speak Japanese and English.
I have worked for a multinational computer manufacturer as a reliability test engineer for more than 20 years, dealing with a lot of technical data and communicating in English and Japanese.
I have always been interested in philosophy since junior high school. At University, I majored in phenomenology, and even after graduation, my interest in philosophy is getting deeper and deeper, especially concerning the concept of time and semiotics.
I have also been quite interested in my native language, Japanese since some people say that the subject is not necessary for Japanese syntax. On the other hand, the more I read the works of phenomenologist Edmund Husserl, the more I see a deep connection between the language per se and its multiplicity of phenomena as temporality as seen in judgment and proposition, and in distinguishing what is syntactic from what is not.
Furthermore, the iconicity of onomatopoeia, frequently seen in Japanese, is also interesting from a semiotic point of view.
Teaching a language is a philosophical activity since it is obviously concerned with the pre-logical or the meta-logical.
I would love to tailor my lessons according to your individual interests, and above all, to enjoy conversation!
