Hi! My name is Kiyoe. I'm a certified Japanese tutor with 5 years of experience.

I’m originally from Yokohama, Japan, and have a background in logistics and food trading, having worked in both Yokohama and Tokyo. I lived in Australia for 5 years starting in 2019, where I was fortunate to have many opportunities to teach Japanese to a diverse range of students, from children to adults.

I was born and raised in Japan by Korean parents, which sparked my lifelong passion for languages and cultures. I love traveling and meeting people from various backgrounds. My favorite things include coffee, yoga, scuba diving, and movies.

Through my own experience learning English as a second language and moving to Australia, I understand that learning a new language can feel like a challenging journey. However, I believe it also brings excitement and can be truly life-changing.

As a language tutor, my greatest joy is seeing my students make progress and grow in confidence through our practice together.

For beginners, I can help deepen your understanding of textbook grammar and vocabulary for conversational use. For intermediate learners, I focus on helping them apply grammar practically in real conversations.

I provide lesson notes and optional homework to aid with the review. TV shows or music can also make learning more enjoyable and relaxed!
