I was born and raised in Italy in a small town in the Marche region. After graduating in Foreign Languages (English and French), I decided to move to the UK, where I have been living for almost seven years. In fact, I have always loved languages with a keen interest in English in particular. I still remember that I was so excited when I learned my very first word: “yellow”. What was your first Italian word? What will it be? I am curious to find out!
While living in the UK, I have had different jobs: I worked as a customer service advisor, waitress and public service interpreter. These jobs helped me to realise that I really enjoyed helping people communicate effectively and learn about their backgrounds. After volunteering to teach for a few months, I decided to study to become a professional teacher and do this job for a living. I have found that I have a real passion for teaching and have never regretted this decision.
I now work as an online Italian teacher full-time. I hold a Bachelor's degree in translation studies (French and English), as well as teaching certification for Italian as second/foreign language (CEDILS).
Alongside work and continuing to improve my English and French, I have recently started learning Russian. It’s a good reminder of how challenging, but also rewarding and wonderful it is to learn a language from scratch in adulthood. This helps me to really understand how my students feel and inspires me to teach better.
Hobbies
♥ I love painting, theatre, travelling, and fantasy books. Favourite book: The night circus. Before the pandemic started, I had the chance to be part of a few theatre shows and explore the magical and extravagant world of clowning.
I offer one-to-one online lessons tailored to your needs and interests. I take inspiration from several different teaching approaches in order to find the best way to help you learn and achieve your objectives.
This can depend on many factors: your age, your mother tongue, your knowledge of other languages and much more. But the truth is that, with the right attitude and commitment, anyone can learn Italian. Little by little, whatever your background is, you'll start speaking Italian! I'd be happy to guide you and offer specific advice on how to achieve that. :)
