Hallo, Guten Tag:) My name is Matthäus and I am teaching German for more than 10 years. I have a master degree in Engineering and during my studies I taught German to foreign students. On the beginning I focused on conversational German, as my students need to learn to communicate. Now I am working in a language center in Wan Chai, where I also help students preparing for exams, like Goethe Certifications A1-C1, TestDaF, IGCSE, AS, PreU, etc.

Based on the students need, I design my lessons, so that they are efficient and practical, and at the same time fun. I also want to inspire people to praise knowledge and skills and of course know more about German-speaking countries.

I am looking forward to teach you and give you a glimpse in the German World!

Matthäus is an amazing teacher. He has some differentes ways of teaching and the technique WAYK (Where are your keys?) are super fun and effective to learn the basic of speaking and gain confidence in talking. He never explains us any grammar, but we all remember how to use it. We are a family of 4 and he is teaching us all at the same time. Thank you, Matthäus

Mateus is a Patient and nice teacher, he has different hand out and audio for different standards students. We learned for A 1 test , so has provided related material for us to practice and he is flexible on time. I would introduce him to friends

Matthäus is a great Tutor overall. He helped me with my preparation for the UK A-Level exam. My speaking has improved a lot after talking to him for 2 weeks and about 2 hours every day. He made me become aware of the mistakes that I make when I speak German and focussed on correcting them. He is very patient and insists that I fully understand a certain phrase or sentence structure before moving on. Very important when you are trying to learn to speak a language! He is also very passionate to help me improve. He used his own time to check and edit my preparation notes for the exam so that I can do as best as possible. He is also very flexible with my needs for the A-Level specification, we had no problem talking over areas that he was not previously familiar with, because he spends time beforehand reading over my textbook and makes sure that he fully understands what my needs are. I would highly recommend Matthäus to anyone that is seeking to improve their speaking or written German, his help is not only invaluable for exams preparation but also for learning the subtleties of spoken German.

Matthaus is an excellent tutor. He tailors his teaching methods according to your goals, especially if you plan on taking a standardized examination. In the short time that I had him as a tutor, my German improved significantly and I went from a basic speaker to being able to communicate with native speakers.
