I am a registered nurse and a former Overseas Filipino Worker. While working overseas, I chanced to meet different races, and the language barrier was one of the difficulties that I encountered. The best way to work harmoniously was to learn their language and at the same time, they learned mine. Frequent interaction and dedication to learning are what make it easy. Using educational tools like pictures helps. Practice talking is also a plus. I am retired so I have all the time to assist clients to learn and be fluent with the language.
