Hi there, My name is Jo, and I'm a passionate 27-year-old Filipino teacher here on tuturoo. Born and raised right here in the Philippines, I've always had a love for languages and sharing my knowledge. I speak English, Tagalog/Filipino fluently, and even my native Hiligaynon/Ilonggo, so you can be sure I understand the unique challenges and strengths of Filipino learners.
Before joining tuturoo, I explored a variety of roles that honed my communication and teaching skills. As an ESL teacher, I helped Chinese students embrace the world of English. In sales and customer service, I learned the art of clear and engaging communication, both written and spoken. And through social media, I developed a knack for making complex topics relatable and interesting.
Now, I'm excited to bring all this experience together to guide you on your learning journey. Whether you're looking to brush up on your English grammar, master the nuances of Filipino writing, or simply explore the beauty of your native tongue, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
Remember, learning should be fun! So let's ditch the rote memorization and embrace interactive, engaging lessons that spark your curiosity and keep you motivated. Together, we can unlock the power of language and empower you to communicate confidently in any situation.
Consume Filipino media: Watch Tagalog movies, TV shows, and Youtube videos with subtitles to familiarise yourself with the language, pronunciation, and culture. This is engaging and fun.
Listen to Tagalog music: Pay attention to the lyrics and try to pick up common words and phrases. Look up translations you're curious about.
Find a language exchange partner: Connect with a native Filipino speaker online or in person to practice speaking and learn about the culture.
For English speakers, Filipino (often called Tagalog) can be quite challenging due to its distinct grammar . However, pronunciation is straightforward, and cultural immersion can make learning fun. Ultimately, difficulty depends on your native language and dedication.
