Private Filipino Tutor in Cebu City and Online
I have experience in teaching the English language both offline and online. The offline teaching experience was with the Center for Premier International Language Studies (CPILS) in Cebu City, Philippines. I handled individual and group classes for foreign students who wanted to either learn the English language as a requirement for their schooling or work or to learn to converse more as they travel abroad.
I eventually moved to be an ESL online teacher because I find it more convenient years after CPILS. and then became an Independent ESL Teacher using various resources, learning different approaches both from formal training, and learning from other teachers, speakers, and lecturers worldwide. I make sure that students absorb the lessons by making them comfortable while learning and apply whether for work or daily living.
I have TEFL and TOEIC certificates. I was also a member of the training team for Language and Quality Assurance in my previous jobs. Other teaching experiences that I may consider to be informal as I may not have secured certificates for them, but I gathered so many experiences and relationships and memories are those times when our church reached out to children and youth living in remote areas that no one almost wanted to go because of the difficulty in getting there. There I participated in teaching out-of-school youth, little kids, and parents who never got to learn. That made me realize no one can indeed put a limit to learning - regardless of race, status, and capabilities.

How easy is it to learn Filipino in Cebu City?
It is easy if you have a good variety of materials, platforms, and even personal resources. Good companions online and in-person would be great too. If you are great at moving around the city, going to nearby towns and provinces, that would be fun and helpful for you too!
Is it difficult to learn Filipino in Cebu City?
No, if you have good resources may it be materials or people around you. A good routine for me, is very effective. It takes discipline and consistency to learn a new language.
