Hi there! My name is Thomas & I am a 28-year-old student at Ca' Foscari in Philosophy, International Studies & Economics. I have two post-secondary diplomas in social work & community work from George Brown College in Toronto, alongside years of experience working with students & workers who have English as their second language (ESL), so I am well versed in supporting, communicating & teaching across language & cultural differences. I have also been working with children & youth for the last 10 years in the public school system back home in Toronto & Squamish, Canada & I am excited to continue similar work here in Venice. My approach to teaching is all about having fun & connecting while improving your written, oral & reading comprehension in English. Learning a new language can be daunting(I am learning Italian right now so I understand!), but when you have a qualified teacher that you are comfortable with, the journey becomes less scary & in fact exciting.
