Hello!
I'm Allison, a 30-year-old, female English teacher from the United States of America. I have 2 years of experience teaching English at a hagwon, and 6 years of experience of personal teaching and tutoring. I am TEFL/TESOL certified and I enjoy teaching students of all ages for all purposes: Business English, English for academic or employment purposes, practice speaking English with a native speaker, and more.
I have a bachelor's degree in Anthropology, so learning languages and cultures is my favorite hobby. Right now, I am learning about the Korean language and culture.
I usually offer both in-person or online lessons. I am living in Bucheon-si, but I am willing to travel to nearby cities and areas to meet students.
The easiest and best way to learn English in Seoul is through 1-on-1 tutoring and practice. Tutors can offer personalized lessons to fit students' needs and help answer questions that a classroom teacher may not have time to answer. Tutors offer personalized help for each student, so it often takes less time to learn English with a tutor.
It can take many years to become fluent in English through classroom lessons. Tutors offer a different kind of teaching that is personalized for each student. This means it can take less time to learn English with a tutor.
The time it takes a student to learn English depends on how much time and effort the student puts into studying.
It can take about 1 year to go from beginner level to high-intermediate level if a student does: 3 hours of lessons each week and 6 hours of homework each week and practices speaking and listening each day.
The most important thing when learning English is to practice with someone who knows English very well, such as a native speaker or tutor.
