Hello! My name is Annika, I am a 22 year old female recently moved to Leipzig to work at a research institute. Apparently, I am in need of extra money to continue to moving costs. I speak two languages fluently, English of course, followed by Swedish. Both languages could be classified as my mother tongue, as I grew up in a bilingual household, however my higher education was completed in English. I completed several university courses in linguistics, contributed to language cafe’s at my department and hold a political science degree with a minor in literature. I am happy to help anybody in need. I have a large reserve of patience and am largely friendly and supportive.

I believe in a holistic approach to education, whereby English teaching is done in a relaxed environment and incorporates the students interests in order to maximise engagement. I believe building a comfortable and relaxed environment between student and teacher is indispensable, in order to encourage conversational learning. The most important aspect of language learning is building a portfolio of phrases and useful vocabulary, in accordance with the students goals. Speaking too mitigates boredom and improves pronunciation. Taking into account English’s relatively simple grammatical structure, I do not believe it to be one of the more difficult languages, yet it highly depends on the students mother tongue. I believe 6 months of regular lessons with me would be enough to achieve a basic level of confidence with speaking, reading and writing.
