I am a native English speaker formerly from South Africa but now living in Hong Kong. My accent is neutral and I speak clearly. Besides English I also learnt to fluently speak three other languages and thus know about the difficulties that ESL students experience when attempting to learn a second language.

I hold three degrees and a TEFL certificate (The TEFL Academy). I have 6 years previous experience as a university tutor and 3 years as a contract lecturer.

This is my first year teaching as a face-to-face TEFL and online teacher. I am currently employed on a full time basis as a NET, working at a local primary school (Monday to Friday) in Hong Kong. I would like to offer my teaching services in the afternoons and evenings during weekdays, and for most hours on weekends, and on public and school holidays. I’m looking forward to meeting and teaching you!

I would be misleading you if I said English is an easy language to learn. However, by using a qualified NET teacher (like myself), and by continuously reading and speaking the language (to others), the process of becoming an English speaker becomes dramatically easier!

How much time does it take to learn English in Hong Kong?

Each student has their own different needs and abilities making it difficult to give a specific timeframe as to how much time it takes to learn English. Therefore, my lessons will be tailored to meet each student's unique needs and abilities to fast track their English language development. Moreover, as I have already mentioned, " by using a qualified NET teacher (like myself), and by continuously reading and speaking the language (to others), the process of becoming an English speaker becomes dramatically easier!"
