Hi! I'm Johann, an Oxford graduate, and polyglot language enthusiast. I first taught through the British Council language assistant program when I worked in a French secondary school (Lycee de Charles de Gaulle). After graduating from Oxford University, I taught as a freelance English teacher working for three companies in Bologna and Florence. Later, I taught an 8-year old Russian boy English, mathematics, and science to prepare him for his Keystage 2 tests. I have over 2 years of experience teaching English in South Korea and around 6 years in Hong Kong.

At secondary school I studied Latin, French, German, and Spanish. I also studied Italian and Russian at the language center in Oxford whilst I was studying French and German (Modern Languages). During my BA/MA studies at Christ Church College, Oxford, I focused mainly on analysing literature (60%) and on translation and essay writing.

In addition to teaching, I have over six years of experience working as a freelance translator for companies like Amazon Srl. I would therefore be more than happy to teach you how to translate texts or how to analyse literary texts.

In Hong Kong, I have helped prepare several students for school entry exams and interviews, ranging from kindergarten at GSIS to 14/15 year olds at CIS and ESF. Besides school students, I have assisted IELTS students with their exam preparation. If it's English, I can teach it.
