Most students are smarter than their essays suggest. I teach them how to structure their ideas into clear, persuasive writing — and prove it with measurable results.
I'm not a conversation partner. I'm a writing coach. Before teaching, I worked as a magazine editor and screenwriter. My job was to find weak arguments and unclear prose — and fix them. Now I help students do the same.
Who I Work With:
Upper-primary students building foundational writing and paragraph skills
Secondary students in international, IGCSE, and IB programs
Adults who want clearer, more structured professional or academic writing
My Approach:
Every lesson has a clear writing target. I give direct, specific feedback on what's working, what isn't, and exactly how to fix it. No vague exercises. After each session, students know what they improved and what to practice next. Once a month, I send a short progress note so improvement is visible, not assumed.
Why My Background Matters:
Magazine editor & screenwriter: Years of sharpening prose and fixing weak arguments.
Sociology degree (University of Calgary): Extensive academic essay writing and thesis construction.
Corporate audit (7 years): Systematic planning, progress tracking, and reliable communication.
Results:
At my previous centre, two of my classes ranked among the highest-performing in the school, with module outcomes averaging 90–95%. They weren't prodigies. They learned to structure their thinking.
What I Offer:
Academic essay writing (structure, thesis, evidence, editing)
Foundational writing and paragraph skills for younger learners
Critical reading and textual analysis
IGCSE and IB coursework writing support
IELTS writing preparation (task structure, argumentation, timed practice)
Rates & Availability:

A Note on Fit:
If you're looking for casual conversation practice, I'm not the right tutor. If your essays are losing marks and you don't know why — or your child speaks English fluently but still struggles to write clearly — I can help.

No — not with the right guidance. Ho Chi Minh City offers many opportunities to practice English, but progress depends on having clear structure, consistent practice, and a teacher who focuses on real communication, not just textbooks.
With the right approach, students can improve steadily and confidently.
That depends on the student’s starting level, age, and consistency. Most children and teens begin to see noticeable improvement in confidence and speaking ability within 2–3 months of regular lessons. Long-term fluency is built through steady practice over time, not shortcuts.
