Certified through the International TEFL Academy with a specialization in teaching Business English. My professional experience is in the Health Sciences and Performance Art fields. I have worked with learners from ages 4 to 80, either through dance instruction or health counseling. I am fluent in English and Spanish while learning German and Japanese to communicate with my international family! As a result, my teaching is understanding the challenges of language learning and flexible to the needs of students.
The culturally diverse landscape of the DC area brings access to a wide range of options that cater to different learning styles and needs. As a city with many opportunities to practice English in real-life contexts, the D.C. area is an excellent place to not only achieve language goals but also practice them within a real-world context by engaging with the community.
English, like any language, can present challenges, especially with its grammar rules, pronunciation, and vocabulary. However, learning English becomes much easier when learners cultivate a genuine love for the process. Through resilience, a student-centered teaching approach, and engaging learning materials, English can feel more approachable. The journey is less about difficulty and more about commitment and enjoyment—building that love of learning helps learners overcome obstacles and sustain their progress long-term. Let’s explore language together in a creative and holistic way!
