My English isn't the result of years of preparation courses or crammed vocabulary lists. It developed naturally — through IB Higher Level English Literature, IGCSE English Language and Literature, and an undergraduate degree at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where I studied rhetoric and academic writing at university level.
When I sat the IELTS exam, I hadn't prepared for it at all. I scored 8.5.
That's the kind of English I can help you develop — not test-taking tricks, but genuine fluency and confidence that shows up in exams, at work, and in real conversations.
I specialise in:
• IELTS preparation (all four skills — I know exactly what Band 7, 8, and 8.5 looks like)
• IB and IGCSE English (Language and Literature)
• Academic writing and essay structure
• Business and professional English
• Conversation and fluency for intermediate to advanced learners
My sessions are personalised. Before we start, I'll assess where you are and we'll build from there — no generic lesson plans, no one-size-fits-all approach.
Whether your goal is a Band 7 for your visa application, an A in your IB English exam, or simply speaking with more confidence — I've been where you're trying to get to, and I can show you the way.
Book a trial lesson and let's figure out exactly what you need.
Cairo is an interesting place to learn English. On one hand, you're surrounded by it — American and British TV shows, international brands, English-medium universities like AUC and BUE, and a business culture that increasingly expects professional English. That exposure helps. On the other hand, most Cairenes never have to fully commit to the language. Arabic gets you everywhere, so English stays at a surface level for many people — functional enough for a menu or a tourist interaction, but not the kind of fluency that opens doors internationally. The students who make real progress here are the ones who stop treating English as a subject and start using it as a tool. That shift — from studying English to living in it — is what I try to accelerate in my sessions. Cairo gives you the exposure. I help you actually use it.
