Hello, my name is Silvy and I'm a university student studying a BA in English Language Teaching. I'm currently researching the differences between English and Thai language, specifically targeting all the problem areas Thai students might encounter when learning English as a second language.
I used to teach at a private school in Rangsit, where I taught primary students of the English and Thai program. I also taught at a learning centre with students again from 5 to 12 years old. I'm currently holding a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Am I a native speaker?
No, I am not a native speaker. I used to learn English at school, just like you. I started learning English since I was 13.
Did I become fluent at English by learning in school?
The answer is: no. I did not become fluent at English by learning in school with my teachers. I became fluent at English because I started to use the language every single day. And just like Thailand, my country doesn't offer many opportunities to speak practice English outside of the classroom. Learning English is an everyday commitment, and if you want to be as fluent as an English speaker, you will have to start using English every day, no matter the environment you are in.
I will not only teach you how to use English, but I will also help you find the best learning methods for you, and share with you all the tips and tricks I used to become a fluent English speaker.
All ages are welcome, as long as you are open to fun and non-traditional ways of learning! :)
Learning a language is not difficult at all. It's using the wrong method of learning that makes it difficult for us to learn a language. It is important to understand the best ways that YOUR brains learn.
It all depends on you!
If you want to improve your speaking skills, you need to be creative and encourage yourself to speak on a daily basis, especially if you want to be as fluent as an English speaker. I will not only teach you how to speak English, but I will also teach you how to LEARN how to speak English.
