Teaching Philosophy & Experience
I am a native Chinese-speaking educator with professional training in Chinese Language Teaching and extensive experience teaching students in Singapore.
My teaching goes beyond memorisation and repetitive drilling. I focus on helping students understand how the Chinese language works, develop stronger language confidence, and acquire examination strategies suited to their individual learning needs.
My interest in Chinese language education has also led me to research and present on Chinese character learning, including the seminar 《汉字中的谜、密、秘》, as well as publishing a Chinese character learning book in 2013.

Teacher Min is amazing, warm, friendly, motivating highly responsive and able to connect to children, tweenagers and adults alike! She is a star tutor! She uses positive reinforcement to connect to my two primary school daughters (P1 local, G6 international). My youngest daughter is okay with Chinese, and Teacher Min's lessons provide her with extra practice. However, my eldest daughter struggled with Chinese given that we do not speak Chinese Mandarin. Everyday was a struggle with Chinese for my eldest daughter and I, until Teacher Min came along to help us. In the space of 2 weeks (and only 3 lessons with additional homework practice), Teacher Min transformed my eldest daughter who was failing her Chinese to a student who managed to secure a pass. In those 2 short weeks, Teacher Min proved to be a committed and dedicated tutor who goes above and beyond her teaching hours, and provides additional personalised homework to help her students learn Chinese in a positive way. So far, we've had 7 lessons with Teacher Min. My daughter's attitude to Chinese has improved so much, and Chinese language is no longer stressful for her or me. Her teacher noted the significant improvement and she proudly told me that she got a special WOW card from her teacher for the excellent effort made during Chinese class. She also scored 100% on her spelling and 85% on her sentence construction (which is a huge improvement from her previous results), with minimal stress and no nagging from me at all.
