Hello! My name is Veronica, and I am a Chinese/Mandarin native speaker who grew up in Canada and have been living in Korea for 5+ years. I am fully fluent in both English and Korean - I can teach classes in both languages, whichever the student prefers.

I have 2+ years of experience teaching Chinese/Mandarin conversations - I coached students who learn Chinese at my school back in Canada and I have also helped several Korean students with their Chinese conversation skills here in Korea. My previous students have found me especially proficient in correcting pronunciation, grammar, and Chinese/Mandarin slangs. (I am very active on Chinese social media, so if you want to know more about what's trending among Chinese young people, then you have chosen the right person!)

I know both simplified and traditional Chinese, so if your goal is to learn Chinese and to travel to Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau, I can teach you how to write traditional Chinese instead of the simplified one. It depends on you! :)

Is it difficult to learn Chinese / Mandarin in Seoul?

It is not! You might feel a bit hard to kick it off at the very start, but once you learn some basics of Chinese you'll master it very quickly! Chinese has a way simpler grammar system compared to many European languages. Plus, if you already have some basics in Korean, learning some Chinese will help you learn your Korean too as there are so many Chinese-origin words (한자어) in Korean.

How much time does it take to learn Chinese / Mandarin in Seoul?

If you want to achieve the level where you will be able to hold basic/daily conversations when you go travel to China, I suggest you practice your conversations skills at least 30mins a day! (Don't cram - Rome wasn't built in a day so wasn't Chinese)
