A huge question! Being a Malaysian-born-Chinese we would say it is difficult, but unless you want to recite or interpret a traditional Chinese poem from the Song dynasty or want to read Chinese literature, learning the basics and communicating in daily life is not that troublesome.:) Love what you learn and you will find magic!
