I have been teaching for about 18 years now. It's feels like it was yesterday when I start teaching and to say I fell in love with it would be an understatement. I have found my passion in playing a role in the lives of the future generation. I started teach Geography and History and I began teaching Zulu full time 10 years ago. I believe that education has the ability to change lives and being a Zulu teacher has given me the platform to embrace our diversity of South Africa. With the country having 11 official languages and being able to teach it to those who are not fluent in it gives me great motivation to continue doing so. I am a friendly and professional educator who thrives in doing her job. Zulu can be a hard language to understand but with the right resources and explanations, student become fluent in no time. Through speaking, write and listening to Zulu I have seen students improve drastically.
I have been volunteering at a community center in my neighborhood providing extra classes. Using this facility will give students the ability to attend their lessons. I am also embracing the platform of online teaching therefore I will be able to organize zoom calls and chats so be able to have good communication with the students.
It is very understandable with the right resources for an educator. So I would conclude to say it is not hard but shouldn't be taken lightly either.
No it is not difficult to learn the language. I believe in practice makes perfect and all it takes is commitment and practice until one can get it right.
