I'm from Pakistan and native speaker of Urdu. It is easy to learn Urdu once you understand the basics since it's a combination of different languages you might find words that are the same but pronounced differently.
If you want to learn how to read it as well that can be a bit tricky and time consuming but if you're enthusiastic enough we can do it.
When I moved to the Netherlands one thing I missed was talking in my own language, I feel like the jokes are much hilarious and we are funny people. So give it a try and you will find that out.
