My name is Ihor! Ukrainian has seen a real surge in interest among foreign learners over the past couple of years, as the country itself has drawn much more attention from people abroad. I'm currently a PhD candidate at the Institute of International Relations, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, working on my dissertation.

Alongside my academic work, I also serve as a civil servant at the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, with previous experience at the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I bring this up not simply as a career note — under Ukrainian law, government officials are required to formally confirm C2-level proficiency in their native language. So even as a native Ukrainian speaker, I had to be officially certified as fluent. On top of that, I hold an IELTS C1 certificate, which means I can fully understand your needs as an English speaker and guide you through learning Ukrainian at any level.

I also completed my Master's degree at Leiden University, so working with international students comes naturally to me — my time in the Netherlands gave me a solid feel for how foreigners approach language learning and what tends to work best.
